Day 7: Weekly Ceremony: The Water Ceremony of Letting Go

Today’s focus: Closing week 1 — what has been seen may now be symbolically released.

🎥 Your video for Day 7 will appear here soon.

Today’s Teaching

In almost all shamanic cultures, water carries away what is no longer needed. Water flows. Water dissolves. Water returns things to the earth and the larger cycle. This is not magic. It is wisdom about how change actually works — not through force, not through denial, but through acknowledgment and release.

Over this past week, you have seen things about yourself. You have recognized your inner critic, come home to your body, found your core beliefs, met your spirit animal, and learned a new way to speak to yourself. This seeing is a gift. It is also heavy to carry. Letting go is not a thought — it is an act. A ceremonial act that tells your nervous system: “These words protected me once. I honor them. And I don’t need them anymore.”

When you release something consciously, with gratitude and ritual, it leaves differently. It doesn’t just repress itself to spring back later. It is witnessed. It is honored. It is allowed to go. And you are left lighter, clearer, ready for the healing that comes next.

Your Ritual Today

The water ceremony: a symbolic release of the week’s heaviest beliefs:

  1. Choose the 3 heaviest self-critical sentences from this week.
  2. Write each one on a piece of paper.
  3. Go to water — a river, the sea, or even a bowl of water at home.
  4. Read each sentence aloud: “You protected me. You kept me safe. I don’t need you anymore.”
  5. Release the paper into the water or dissolve it, watching it go.
  6. Speak: “I release you. You may return to the earth. And I continue.”
