Today’s Teaching

A shamanic journey is a way of traveling into non-ordinary reality — a state where your intuitive mind opens, where you can meet helpers, allies, and sources of wisdom within yourself. A spirit animal is one such ally. It is not something outside of you that you are trying to summon. It is your second point of view — a power within you that has never judged you, never doubted you, never turned away.

The spirit animal carries qualities you need: courage, gentleness, groundedness, joy. Perhaps it comes to you as a being you have always loved, or perhaps it surprises you. Either way, it is no accident. In shamanic traditions, the animal meets you at exactly the moment you need it most.

Today you will journey with drum music into non-ordinary reality. You will meet your ally. You will ask it one question: “What do I need to learn to love myself?” And you will listen for its answer — not with your thinking mind, but with your whole being. Some people see images. Some feel sensations. Some hear words. Some just know. There is no right way.

The drum is an ancient technology for this work. It is safe, it is natural, it is your nervous system’s invitation to a different kind of knowing. Trust what comes. It is exactly what you need.

Your Ritual Today

Prepare your space and journey with the drum:

  1. Find a quiet, comfortable place where you can lie down and not be interrupted for about 25–30 minutes.
  2. Light your altar candle.
  3. Lie down or sit comfortably and close your eyes.
  4. Listen to the guided drum journey audio. Let yourself receive without forcing.
  5. When you return from the journey (the drum will signal the return), sit quietly for a few moments.
  6. At your altar, hold your hand over your heart and say a silent thank you to your spirit animal.

Your Workbook

Today’s workbook pages are designed for your journey. There is a journey log template to record what you experienced, a spirit animal page where you name the animal and describe the qualities it brings to you, and a section on how you will honor it daily. Write everything down while the experience is fresh.
