Today’s focus: Self-love is physical. You come out of your head and back into your body.
🎥 Your video for Day 3 will appear here soon.
Today’s Teaching
Self-love is not a thought. It is a feeling. And feelings live in the body. When you spend days, weeks, years in your head — analyzing yourself, criticizing yourself, thinking about yourself — you disconnect from the place where you actually live: your body.
Many women describe this as standing beside themselves. You can see your life happening, but you are not quite in it. You are up there, in thought, watching. This disconnection feels like safety (the critic cannot hurt you if you are not home), but it is also the reason self-love cannot land. Love needs a body to land in.
The fastest way back home is not through more thinking. It is through earth, breath, and touch. When you stand barefoot on the ground, when you breathe slowly, when you place your own hand on your own heart — your nervous system recognizes: “I am here. I am safe. I can come home.”
This is grounding. Not magical, but deeply practical. Your body is not the problem. It is the solution. Today you practice coming home to it.
Your Ritual Today
The grounding ceremony: a 4-part practice to bring your awareness back into your body. Do this barefoot if possible, outside or on the floor:
- Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Feel your feet on the ground.
- Breathe slowly: inhale for 4 counts, hold for 6, exhale for 8. Do this 5 times.
- “Gather” your body with your hands, stroking from your feet slowly up to your head, as if you are drawing yourself back into yourself.
- Place both hands over your heart and wrap your arms around yourself in a self-embrace.
- Speak: “I live in here. And that is good.”
- Stay for one more breath.
Your Workbook
Today’s workbook includes a body scan protocol: where in your body do you feel at home? Where numb or cut off? Draw a body map and mark these places. This is your starting point for re-inhabiting yourself.
