One Shamanism Learn to Journey
The Way of the Drum

The Drum Is Enough.
A Complete Path, Carried by Rhythm.

For tens of thousands of years, most shamanic traditions have journeyed into the spirit world carried by rhythm alone — drum, rattle, song, and dance. Plant medicine is another door, held sacred by some traditions, especially in South America. The drum is the door I teach — and perhaps the gentlest of them all.

Many Doors, One Spirit World

The Drum Is the Original Doorway

Shamanism has always known more than one door into the spirit world. Ceremonial plant medicine is a real and sacred one — held within lineage, ceremony, and community, above all by the tribes of South America, and completely valid there. And across most of the shamanic world, from Siberia to Mongolia to North America, the doorway has always been rhythm. The drum is the original doorway of shamanism — full, complete, and it carries you just as truly.

The Science & The Spirit

How the Drum Carries You

Sonic Driving

A steady, monotonous beat of around 4–7 beats per second encourages your brain to settle into the theta range — the soft, receptive state you naturally pass through every night before sleep.

The Inner Door Opens

In theta, the everyday mind rests on the rhythm like a rider on a horse — and your deeper perception opens. This is where the journey begins: images, feelings, and knowing arise naturally.

You Hold the Reins

Unlike a substance, the drum never takes over. You can pause, open your eyes, or return at any second. The state deepens with practice — always at your pace, always in your hands.

An Honest Word

Why I Teach the Drum

I deeply honor the traditions that carry plant medicine — they are sacred, and in the hands of the peoples who hold them, especially in South America, they are a completely valid shamanic path. My choice to teach without it comes from one honest place: its effects vary enormously from soul to soul. The same medicine that opens one person beautifully can overwhelm or destabilize another — and as the one responsible for the wellbeing of my students, that is a risk I am not willing to take with you. The drum gives us everything we need — with your soul setting the pace, every step of the way.

The Gifts of This Path

Why the Drum May Be the Kindest Door

Gentle & Gradual

The journey state deepens step by step, as your trust grows. Nothing overwhelms you; nothing is forced open before you're ready.

Repeatable Anytime

You can journey tonight, tomorrow, every week — at home, for free. Relationship with your spirits is built through regular visits, not one big experience.

Easy to Integrate

Because each journey is gentle and clear, its guidance flows naturally into your everyday life — no weeks of integration needed after an overwhelming night.

Legal & Safe

No substances, no legal grey zones, no physical side effects, no dependence on a facilitator far from home. Just you, the drum, and your spirits.

Fully Yours

Your power stays with you. You learn a skill you own for life — instead of depending on a ceremony, a place, or a substance to reconnect.

A Beautiful "After" Too

If you've already sat in ceremony: the drum gives you a sustainable daily practice to continue, integrate, and deepen what opened there.

Your Guide

I'm Carolin — I teach shamanism from the heart.

I had my first shamanic visions as a child, suppressed them for years, and finally left the corporate world when life called me back. I've trained in shamanic lineages from Siberia to Mongolia and North America — and as a Certified NLP Trainer (Society of NLP), trained directly by NLP co-founder Dr. Richard Bandler, I bring a deep understanding of the subconscious mind and hypnosis into everything I teach. Ancient practice and modern psychology — bridged with heart.

FAQ

Drum Journeying — Good to Know

Can you practice shamanism without ayahuasca?
Yes — and most shamanic traditions worldwide always have. From Siberia to Mongolia to North America, the classic doorway is rhythmic drumming, rattling, singing, or dancing. Plant medicine is a valid, sacred path in the traditions that hold it — especially in South America — and it was never a requirement of shamanism itself.
Why don't you work with plant medicine in your teaching?
Out of care, not judgment. Plant medicine's effects vary enormously from person to person — the same medicine that opens one soul beautifully can overwhelm or destabilize another. As the one responsible for my students' wellbeing, that's a risk I'm not willing to take. The drum lets every person journey at the pace their own soul chooses.
Why does drumming work?
A steady beat of around 4–7 beats per second — sometimes called sonic driving — encourages the brain to settle into a relaxed theta state, the same receptive state you pass through before sleep. There your inner landscape opens for the journey, while you stay fully aware.
Is drum journeying as powerful as plant medicine?
It's a different kind of power: gentler, gradual, and fully in your hands. Depth in shamanism comes from relationship and regular practice, not from intensity. The drum lets you build that relationship over a lifetime.
Is it safe and legal?
Yes. Drum journeying uses only the natural states of your own mind — no substances, no legal risk, no side effects. You can return at any moment you choose.
I've done ceremony before — is this still for me?
Very much so. Many people come to the drum after ceremony experiences, looking for a way to continue the connection in daily life. The drum gives you exactly that: a sustainable practice to integrate and deepen what opened.
